Google a aparut in fata tribunalului federal din Australia din cauza acuzatiilor venite de la „Australian Competition and Consumer Commission” (ACCC) – care spun ca Google a indus in eroare clientii.
La tribunal, avocatul ACCC, Christine Adamson a sustinut ca Google a indus in eroare utilizatorii pentru acestia nestiind ca rezultatele cautarilor sunt influentate de platile advertiserilor.
Adamson a spus in apararea afirmatiilor ca:
“Google represents to the world that its search engine is so good that it can rank, out of the multitudinous entries of the worldwide web, these entries in order of relevance of the user’s query. Part of that (reputation is) that it’s not influenced by money, it’s influenced by relevance.â€
Ca un rezumat, Google afiseaza rezultate dupa relevanta ci nu dupa pretul care il platesc advertiserii, ceea ce nu este tot timpul asa, sustine Adamson. Probabil vom mai avea vesti despre evolutia acestui proces.
